Five years since the "Thank you, we're leaving" campaign

It's been five years since the "Thank you, we're leaving" campaign. Because of the campaign as well as the deplorable state of doctor wages, the issue came to the forefront of political discourse as doctors salaries weren't increasing in line with any other profession.

At Ewing PR we are very proud of the work we do, and because of this, journalist Martin Caban wittily remarked in the Zdravotnictvi medicina magazine that "Everybody who was part of the "Thank you, we're leaving" campaign will remember the people from Ewing PR fondly, as their escapade was successful in giving some lustre to a union issue while also having a wide social impact and simultaneously being incredibly professional. At the same time, the agency won a number of industry awards for the campaign. Some of the members of the team were so engaged in their work that they became passionate about the protests and talked about it in the pub well after working hours. Bottom line, the 'Thank you, we're leaving" campaign remains a very significant event even though it didn't meet all initial expectations. It's an important mark in the post-communist history of the health care system in the country, which will be studied in the future from a number of different angles as well as because it was an exceptionally successful event."
